Bolsover castle is a 17th century house built on the site of a Norman fortress. Sir Charles Cavendish, son of Bess of Hardwick (from nearby Hardwick hall) started the construction of the castle in 1612.
The castle has excellent views over the Vale of Scarsdale.
The castle hosts many events as well as being a tourist attraction in itself.
